Position Overview:

Fortune is seeking a Newsletter Production Editor to help produce, publish, and optimize our portfolio of newsletters. This editorial role: ensures newsletters publish on Fortune.com and are delivered to subscribers’ inboxes reliably; involves writing copy for newsletters daily, from subject lines to news summaries; and applies performance data to drive growth, habituation, and engagement.

Responsibilities

Produce, proofread, and publish newsletters and related stories in WordPress and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

Write and edit news summaries, subject lines, headlines, and other newsletter copy.

Curate stories with sharp news judgment and awareness of reader appetite.

Manage the newsletter production schedule, and coordinate deliverables across editorial, marketing, and sales.

Partner with editors and marketing on major editorial packages and franchises (e.g., Fortune 500, Most Powerful Women, Davos coverage), shaping how content is represented across newsletters and digital platforms.

Collaborate with audience development, social, marketing, and product design colleagues to grow and promote newsletters.

Partner with sales and account management on sponsored or monetized newsletters, ensuring timely delivery and consistent brand alignment.

Track performance metrics (opens, CTRs, engagement) and recommend optimizations.

Conduct A/B tests and translate findings into ongoing improvements.

Create and adapt newsletter templates in WordPress and Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and communicate necessary workflow changes.

Troubleshoot errors and escalate technical issues.

Stay current on best practices in publishing, audience growth, and digital storytelling.

Qualifications

2–4 years of experience in digital media, newsletter production, or editorial operations.

Experience using WordPress (or similar CMS) and Salesforce Marketing Cloud (or similar ESP).

Ability to write and line-edit clean copy that adheres to Fortune’s standards of journalistic rigor, accuracy, and fairness, plus spot and resolve linking and formatting issues.

Excellent organization and communication skills; able to manage multiple daily, weekly, and ad hoc newsletters while collaborating across teams.

Familiarity with newsletter analytics and basic HTML is a plus.

Success in this role means Ensuring newsletters are delivered to inboxes on time, free of errors, and full of newsworthy and engaging content. Collaborating cross-functionally to help ensure each newsletter meets its editorial, audience, and commercial goals. Identifying room for improvement in publishing workflows, performance dashboards, and content planning communication.

Salary Range Salary Range:

$70,000-$80,000. This range is a good-faith estimate and may ultimately vary based on a number of relevant factors.
