
Attractions Associate (Entry Level, 15-year-olds)

Overview
Create a welcoming environment by engaging guest, offering guidance, and collecting parking lot and attraction payments while providing a great guest experience and following established policies and procedures. This position is open to individuals that are at least 15 years of age, but have not yet turned 16.
Responsibilities
Processing transactions for guests purchasing parking or attraction tickets via cash, credit/debit, or membership
Recording sign-ins and VIP guest parking
Directing traffic, providing information
Cleaning of parking lots or booth areas
Other duties as assigned pertaining to the Attractions Department, such as evening shifts for events
The starting rate for this position is $15.00 per hour but may increase based on availability and experience
Minimum requirements
Computer/register experience preferred
Cash handling experience preferred
Strong communication skills required
Qualifications
Applicants must have flexible availability most weekends, holidays, and event evenings
They must be able to count currency and make change
Other abilities include sitting for several hours; directing traffic movement using signs, flags, and hand signals
Able to work outdoors in all weather
Lift 25 pounds unaided
At times they may need to be able to stand for several hours, and maintain an alert, professional posture when not actively engaged in guest transactions or directing vehicle traffic
People skills are required to considerately handle guest issues within guidelines of zoo policies
All successful candidates will be required to submit to a criminal background check and drug test
