Candidate ideally will live in or near Southwest Virginia (list of cities/towns). Hiring manager considers Senior District Sales Manager. Level based on experience. Company car with paid gas card provided. Duties and Responsibilities
Recruit, present and sell the ERIE Agency Career to prospective Agents and producers; hire, train, develop new independent Agents. Influence independent Agents to sell ERIE products and services; provide training on products, underwriting, servicing and Agency operations; oversee complaint handling; work with branch manager to address underperforming Agents. Develop and maintain subject matter expertise of ERIE's commercial, personal, and life products, IT tools, and resources; support underwriting and technology tools. Serve as Agent's direct link to the company; act as field underwriter in inspecting and authorizing binding of coverage. Serve as company's direct link to ERIE Agencies; provide ongoing communications; sponsor and manage sales contests, promotions, incentives. Licensed, non-commission company Agent proficient in selling ERIE products and services to customers and prospects. Knowledge broker; maintain current knowledge of trends and latest developments; assist independent Agents in solving agency level sales and marketing problems. Utilize best practices for time management and business planning; develop and implement Agency and district level business plans and budgets to achieve goals. Manage new and experienced Independent Agents; conduct one-on-one reviews of Agent underwriting, re-underwriting, profitability and compliance results; partner with Agent to implement corrective action. Minimum educational and experience requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of four years of sales, underwriting, claims or marketing experience; MBA preferred. Additional experience: three years of sales, underwriting, claims or marketing experience or participation in DSM Training Program; must live in territory assigned; commitment to ERIE's philosophy; extensive local travel; proficiency with spreadsheet, word processing and e-mail software. Designations and/or Licenses: Related industry designations such as CIC, CPCU, CLU preferred; valid driver's license and good driving record required. Physical Requirements
Lifting/Moving 0-20 lbs; occasional 20-50 lbs; ability to move over 50 lbs using lifting aid equipment; driving frequent 50-80%. Manual keying/data entry/computer use often 20-50%. Climbing/accessing heights rarely.
