Team Overview Do you have a desire to be part of the wealth‑management process and a strong background in high‑net‑worth estate planning? If so, the Edward Jones Generations® team may be the right opportunity. The team provides an end‑to‑end, HNW client experience by partnering with branch teams to deliver holistic financial planning, tax and estate services, implementation of Edward Jones products, and ongoing reporting.
Responsibilities
Serve as an estate‑planning expert in partnership with Senior Estate Strategists to uncover, understand, and articulate client estate and legacy goals.
Partner with internal stakeholders and service providers, such as the Edward Jones Trust Company, to bring forward holistic strategies and solutions.
Leverage the firm’s full suite of financial‑planning tools to help clients define goals and identify estate‑planning opportunities.
Review high‑net‑worth client estate‑planning documents and identify opportunities to better align strategies to client goals.
Translate complex planning strategies into client‑friendly language, including education and trade‑offs for each proposed strategy.
Support Senior Estate Strategists and partner with home office and third‑party experts to deliver high‑quality Advice, Planning, Products, and Services (APPS) required for HNW clients.
Demonstrate understanding of how upcoming legislative and regulatory changes may impact HNW estate or legacy planning and propose client‑appropriate strategies.
Communicate at an appropriate technical level with advisors, the Generations team, and clients to document goals, articulate strategies, identify needed expertise, and build relationships.
Facilitate timely creation of estate‑planning deliverables, including summarizations, alignment tables, flow‑charts, and education on new strategies.
Actively contribute to key strategic initiatives/projects across the Wealth Management Advice & Solutions division to support the firm’s HNW strategy.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Law (required).
Advanced degree (e.g., JD) (required).
Series 7 and 66 licenses within 6 months of hire.
Insurance license within 6 months of hire.
CFP® preferred or obtained according to firm policy.
5+ years of experience in the financial‑services industry preferred.
Direct client‑service experience as a member of an HNW client‑facing professional team (required).
Understanding of advisor and branch‑team processes, including Core Wealth, Banking, and Financial‑Planning offerings.
Proficiency with financial‑planning software and tools.
Deep understanding of financial‑planning concepts and application.
Deep expertise in complex estate‑planning strategies such as Spousal Lifetime Access Trusts, Intentionally Defective Grantor Trusts, Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts, Generational Skipping Tax Transfer (GSTT), Qualified Personal Residence Trusts, and related strategies.
Ability to review HNW client estate documents (trusts, wills, POAs, directives, tax returns, agreements, etc.) and identify strategy opportunities aligned with client goals.
Ability to interpret how legislative changes impact HNW estate/legacy planning and support strategy implementation.

Understanding of tax‑law and regulatory impacts on HNW tax planning and client‑facing strategies.
Work Location & Hybrid Details Candidates residing within commuting distance of our Tempe, AZ or St. Louis, MO offices are expected to work in‑office up to four days per week effective June 1 2026; prior to that, up to three days per week, preferably Tuesday‑Thursday. Current home‑based associates may retain their status if selected.
