If you are a motivated professional looking for a long-term fit where you can grow in a role, and will be valued and empowered, then we invite you to apply to our Legal Secretary position in our White Plains office./ppThis position offers a hybrid schedule, with four in-office work days and 1 remote work day per week./ppThe Position/ppWilson Elsers White Plains office is currently seeking a Legal Secretary to work with a leading Medical Malpractice and Long-Term Care defense team./ppKey Responsibilities/pulliPrepare legal filings: format documents, pull exhibits, proofread and redact documents/liliPrepare court filings, become familiar with court rules and filing procedures/liliE-file court filings/liliOpen new matters/liliDocument management and organization, saving to network, indexing for file room/liliRetrieve court decisions from Westlaw/liliPrepare cover letters for attorney bills/liliInput billing information into billing software/liliSchedule conferences and depositions, maintain attorney calendars/liliManage bills for third party vendors, process check requests and follow up with accounting/li/ulpQualifications/pulli2+ years Litigation experience/liliPrior experience with litigation involving Medical Malpractice/liliMust have prior experience with litigation procedures and processes, e-filing, and creating table of authorities/liliFamiliarity with New York State and Federal court procedures and rules/liliAbility to work in a team-based setting with other Legal Secretaries supporting a group of attorneys/liliOpen to taking on new responsibilities and challenging tasks/liliExcellent organizational skills with the ability to integrate into a fast-paced environment/liliExcellent typing skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office 2007 (Word, Outlook, Excel)/liliStrong written and verbal communication skills/liliLicensed Notary/li/ulpA variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, other business and organizational needs, and other factors permitted by law. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances.
