
Senior Salesforce Systems Administrator Lead

Our client, a Boston-based University, is in need of a contract Senior Systems Salesforce Administrator Lead for a 3-6 month assignment. This is a hybrid full‑time (35 hrs a week) position with 3 days onsite at the Boston campus and 2 days working remotely.
The
Sr. Salesforce Administrator Lead
reports to the Vice President of Advancement Resources and provides interim leadership and hands on participation and coverage for 3-6 months.
This role oversees the Salesforce ecosystem (Ascend, Marketing Cloud, Commerce Cloud, Experience Cloud), coaches the systems administration team, conducts daily standups, monitors and assigns cases, and serves as liaison with IT to bridge development work and Advancement needs.
Key responsibilities include managing critical projects (Ascend stabilization, Kindsight engagement, Commerce Cloud troubleshooting, parent data loading), handling escalated issues, and maintaining day-to-day operations.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years Salesforce administration experience, preferably in higher education.
Proven experience coaching or managing technical teams.
Strong knowledge of Salesforce products: Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Commerce Cloud, Experience Cloud.
Experience with Salesforce configuration: Workflow, Process Builder, Flow, assignment rules, approval processes, fields, page layouts, record types, dashboards and reports.
Ability to serve as liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders.
Strong business analysis skills to translate business needs into technical requirements.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and vendor management skills.
Experience with sandbox and production environments.
Ability to prioritize and make decisions independently in a temporary capacity.
Duties and Responsibilities Daily Operations & Team Coaching
– Conduct daily standup
Coach and guide team members.
Monitor and assign cases by record type: licensing, other, tech changes, data uploads.
Handle escalated technical issues.
Oversee system administration and data quality checks.
Provide updates to Vice President of Advancement Resources.
ITS Liaison & Business Analysis
Bridge gap between IT development and Advancement business needs.
Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Coordinate project deliverables and timelines.
Facilitate problem resolution between teams.
Critical Projects
Ascend stabilization.
Kindsight engagement.
Commerce Cloud stabilization and troubleshooting.
Experience Cloud Giving Day platform (contingency: rollback to GARVYTY if needed).
Parent data loads (starting 1/15/2026).
Giving societies in Ascend.
Historical documents project.
Miscellaneous: email address cleanup, constituent type work, audits
