W.E. O’Neil is seeking an experienced
Project Director - Education
to provide leadership on complex, high-value construction projects. In this role, you’ll own project success from pursuit through closeout—leading teams, managing risk, strengthening client relationships, and delivering exceptional outcomes.
What You’ll Do
Lead one or more large, complex construction projects from pursuit and preconstruction through completion
Own overall project performance—profitability, schedule, quality, safety, and client satisfaction
Partner with estimating, operations, and field leadership to set GMPs, schedules, and execution strategiesServe as the senior client‑facing leader, building trusted relationships with Owners, Architects, and partners
Oversee and mentor Project Managers and Senior Project Managers, setting clear expectations and developing talent
Manage contract strategy, change negotiations, risk mitigation, and claims avoidance
Drive strong safety culture in collaboration with Superintendents and Safety leadership
Support business development efforts including RFQs/RFPs, interviews, and industry networking
What You’ll Bring
10–15+ years of progressive construction leadership experience on large‑scale projects, specifically in the K12 and Higher Education spaces
Proven ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams and manage multiple stakeholders
Design‑Build management experience. DBIA preferred.
Deep knowledge of construction delivery methods, contracts, scheduling, and cost control
Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship‑building skills
Advanced proficiency with project management and scheduling tools (CMiC, P6, MS Project, Bluebeam, BIM tools, etc.)
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience
