
Overview
The College of Health is seeking applications for a Communications Coordinator to support the communications team and will be responsible for developing and disseminating content via internal and external communications and marketing channels. The Communications Coordinator will work as part of the College of Health’s communications team and be responsible for developing engaging content that reflects the College’s strategic priorities, and for maintaining efficient workflows for all the College’s communications channels. The position will collaborate closely with the College of Health’s other communications staff, as well as with faculty and staff, with the goal of building public awareness of the College’s academic programs and activities, strengthening relationships with key stakeholders and partners, and supporting student recruitment efforts.
Responsibilities
Develop and disseminate content for internal and external communications and marketing channels.
Collaborate with other communications staff, faculty, and staff to produce engaging content aligned with the College’s priorities.
Maintain efficient workflows for all College communications channels.
Support the College’s public awareness efforts and student recruitment.
Qualifications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to develop content for a range of media, formats, and audiences.
Ability to create images and multimedia materials to support public relations and communications goals.
Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, including the ability to interact with a diverse group of students, faculty, and staff.
Excellent attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask simultaneous responsibilities.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of two years’ relevant experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field.
Position Details This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Anchorage. This is a full-time, term-funded, exempt staff position with a competitive salary and a full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79, based on education and experience.
