Operating in 22 countries with accounting in 17 countries and 27 operating entities with offices in APAC, EMEA and North America (primarily Centreville VA and London, Ontario Canada). You will build your team as we evolve to a public company.
S&P Global had announced the intent to separate our Mobility Segment into a standalone public company. This role is based in Centreville, Virginia, with plans to relocate to Reston, Virginia, in 2026.
As the Global Head Communications, Mobility you will serve as the key Communications strategist and lead the Mobility’s Communications team. The role involves advising the Mobility Executive Leadership Team, fostering a high-performance team culture while developing a strong leadership bench. It will shape and execute communication strategies that enhance and protect the reputation of the company and engage with media, employees, investors, and customers. This role reports to the S&P Global Chief Communications Officer for an interim timeframe and ultimately reports to the Mobility Chief Strategy Officer.
The Impact In this role, you will be responsible for:
Driving strategic external and internal communications for the business lines and functions, leading a global team of communicators.
Working closely with the Mobility Executive Leadership Team, their leadership teams, and support functions including marketing, finance, people, legal and others.
Leading external communications for the division, developing strategic plans to enhance the business’s reputation and showcase the depth of Mobility to media globally.
Connecting our people to our purpose by bringing our divisional strategy to life, communicating our initiatives, and elevating the employee experience.
Building communication strategies that drive engagement in support of major Strategic, Financial, People and Customer initiatives and change communications.
The successful applicant will bring global and local knowledge, contacts, and expertise to implement these strategic communication initiatives. Your responsibilities will also include identifying and implementing leading industry standards, exploring new methods, and advancing our capabilities by driving engagement and meaningful two-way communications. This role requires clearly demonstrated communications leadership and prior experience in a publicly listed company at a corporate level.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute the Mobility communications strategy, encompassing both internal and external communications.
Build out the communications function for scale, effectiveness and results.
Provide strategic thinking and direction to the CEO, leadership team and senior leaders in planning and executing all external and internal communication programs.
Lead communications in partnership with Investor Relations for earnings and investor days.
Draft and secure approval for key messages to be delivered to regional, business, or large functional area employees, managing the development of content on change management, business strategies, and growth.
Provide hands‑on support for leadership communications, coaching and advising senior leaders, creating communication plans, producing and publishing content across multiple channels, and organizing town halls and other events.
Dive deep into employee feedback—utilizing metrics and insights to spot trends, identify changes in behaviors, and address peaks and valleys in engagement.
Create and lead the Mobility external communication strategy, overseeing the global implementation of regional programs.
Collaborate with a broad slate of expert spokespeople on high-profile external placements, including op‑eds and broadcast opportunities.
Identify and align with market trends that impact or influence communication programs.
Lead the business’s reputational risk and crisis communications strategy aimed at protecting its reputation through proactive development of approved messaging.
Create a metrics‑driven reporting framework for communications that demonstrates accountability and showcases progress.
Manage media share of voice against peer competitors and proactively make recommendations to tailor the communications program.
Manage the Communication team and support their ongoing career development.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Communications, Journalism, Business, Finance, or related fields; Master’s degree preferred.
15+ years of experience in corporate or strategic communications in a related industry, preferably with experience in a regulated and or publicly traded business.
Strategic thinker who can translate complex concepts into actionable, understandable plans, programs, and materials.
Exceptional media relationships and/or demonstrated ability to build the right relationships quickly.
Ability to engage and manage multiple stakeholders, build strong relationships and networks, and effectively drive, convince, and influence others.
Passion for strengthening organizational culture and productivity, and building community within a global, diverse workforce.
Ability to multitask, working on multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision and under tight deadlines.
Flexibility to participate in strategic project work and potentially external communications.
Excellent project management skills and strong executive presence.

Critical Experiences
Experience leading organizational change and communication projects, preferably in a fast-moving, matrixed organization.
Previous experience developing global internal communication plans to support people and activate employee engagement.
Previous experience developing innovative global external communication plans that proactively help grow and defend market-leading brands.
Proven track record of global, cross-functional partnership and relationship management.
Experience program/project managing complex, cross-functional, global communication initiatives.
Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a matrixed organizationli>

Experience partnering with/providing counsel to senior executives.
Demonstrated experience developing executive-level communications and channel strategies.
