Description of Work The IT Director for the University Police Department is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all information technology operations that support public safety functions. This includes direct supervision of a multidisciplinary IT team that manages police technologies, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), surveillance systems (CCTV), electronic access control, and departmental infrastructure. The IT Director plays a critical role in planning, implementing, and evaluating technology strategies that align with the operational and security needs of the department while also supporting the university’s broader IT standards and objectives.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or equivalent education/experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Prior responsibility for successful projects, including complex projects involving multiple staff and clients.
Experience managing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise Windows‑based systems and information system auditing.
Experience performing IT general controls and application control reviews.
Knowledge of current Microsoft Windows products, Microsoft Active Directory, hardware/software troubleshooting, and TCP/IP networking.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
Experience with physical security systems (surveillance cameras, access control, alarms, etc.) or public safety systems, application development, and GIS applications.
Minimum 4 years of increasingly responsible experience, including project management.
Thorough grasp of information technology concepts and processes.
7+ years of leading and/or directing an IT team, including inclusive leadership supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), A+, and Server+ certifications.
