
Overview
Dress for Success® Houston (DFS Houston) is seeking an outgoing, organized, and service-focused Community Engagement Associate, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about empowering women, to join our team. This person ensures smooth on-site engagements with volunteers, groups, and Member Organizations while supporting the Client Experience team in the day-to-day operations of the agency. Responsibilities
Member Organization
Coordinate the logistics of Member Organization engagements with Dress for Success Houston. Research assigned prospective Member Organizations. Maintain accurate database records for Member Organizations and contacts. Draft monthly Member Organization newsletter. Prepare materials and presentations for offsite Member Organization events. Represent DFS Houston off-site (community engagements, panels, job fairs, graduations, etc.) as needed.
Volunteer Engagement
Provide clear, timely communication to volunteers: shift reminders daily, calendar updates weekly, and quarterly newsletters. Update the volunteer communication board in the volunteer room monthly. Maintain and update the volunteer orientation funnel to understand conversion rates from orientation to active volunteers. Coordinate with internal POC’s for volunteer group projects. Lead volunteer orientation and agency tours as needed.
Communication and Logistics
Coordinate logistics for scheduled group suiting and group volunteer days as the Point of Contact (POC). Coordinate and conduct orientations and trainings for volunteers and Member Organizations. Coordinate the First Impressions program, including staff coverage and virtual material.
Client Experience Support
Support Client Experience and agency functions of suiting, donations and volunteer engagement.
Qualifications
Excellent problem-solving, customer service, and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task comfortably. Strong critical thinking, time management and follow-through. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including excellent public speaking skills. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Minimum of two years of work experience in a service-oriented organization or non-profit. Experience with Microsoft Office 365. Ability to maintain a calm, caring, and professional demeanor at all times. Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation Able to lift 30 pounds. Preferred:
Experience with Email Marketing (Account Engagement), Video Conferencing (Teams/Zoom), and a CRM platform (Salesforce) Experience with logistics (organizing groups of people for projects), volunteer coordination
Working Conditions
9:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday on-site at DFS Houston. Must be able to work evenings and weekends, approximately three per month.
