Calico Studio is currently looking for a full-time architectural designer to join our team. We are a growing, vibrant, multi-disciplinary boutique firm located in Chapel Hill, NC. We follow our passions to find projects that challenge us to think in different ways. We have done everything from single-family custom homes, commercial work, interior design, and master planning to product development and branding packages. We are seeking a highly creative designer who is a resourceful and creative problem solver with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. We are small but mighty and look for those capable of taking direction and leading a project as well as having the ability to manage multiple projects at once and meet deadlines. We are seeking strong listeners with a passion for quality design, spatial relationships and a deep understanding of materials. Our ideal candidate has a passion for sustainability and holistic design, with the ability to vary style depending on the project. This is a full-time salaried position with the option to work remotely up to two days a week in line with our hybrid work policy. Minimum Requirements

Degree from an NAAB accredited Architecture program Actively working towards licensure from the state Board of Architecture of North Carolina Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Strong knowledge of CADD programs and 3D modeling, familiarity with current design software and techniques Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of professional experience in Architecture design Project Management experience Vectorworks experience Responsibilities

Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with team or clients Develop design concepts from schematic through design development Prepare drawings, present ideas, clearly communicate reasoning behind design choices, and give and receive constructive criticism Attend design meetings and producing field reports Documenting existing conditions, research code issues
