
Overview
Role Overview: We are seeking a Salesforce Workflow Analyst to support the New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL). The Analyst will analyze, design, and document Salesforce-based case management workflows for Unemployment Insurance (UI) investigations. This role involves creating technical design documentation for a Case Management Solution (CMS) based on requirements from the Office of Special Investigations (OSI). The Analyst will collaborate with program staff, investigators, IT teams, and stakeholders to translate investigative, regulatory, and operational requirements into compliant, efficient, and scalable system solutions.
Responsibilities
Business & Technical Analysis
Gather and document business and technical requirements
Develop functional and technical specifications
Translate statutory and regulatory requirements into system workflows
Salesforce Workflow Design
Design and support Salesforce case management workflows
Document case lifecycle, routing, automation, and status tracking
Ensure workflows are configurable and aligned with program needs
Investigative Workflow Support
Develop workflows for civil law enforcement investigations, audits, and misconduct cases
Support evidence tracking, task sequencing, escalation, and auditability
Support criminal investigative workflows (as applicable)
Regulatory & Confidentiality Compliance
Ensure compliance with federal and state UI regulations
Design workflows that enforce confidentiality and data protection requirements
Data & Analytics Integration
Support integration of data analytic systems (e.g., Splunk)
Incorporate analytics outputs into investigative workflows
Stakeholder Collaboration
Collaborate with NYSDOL program, investigative, and IT staff
Provide timely and responsive communication and support
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years experience gathering requirements and drafting technical specifications
Minimum 5 years experience developing workflows in Salesforce
Completion of at least 3 projects involving:
Investigative workflows
Statutory and regulatory compliance, including confidentiality requirements
Integration with data analytic systems
Preferred Experience
Knowledge of USDOL and UI confidentiality regulations
Experience supporting public-sector investigative systems
Professional Expectations
Ability to work in highly regulated environments
Strong written and verbal communication skills
