
The Role: Designer 3-6 years experience
Bunch Design is a growing AIA award winning, design focused, Residential architecture practice located in La Canada, CA (near Altadena/ Pasadena).
WHO WE ARE Bunch Design specializes in smaller projects often on weird lots with tight spaces on budgets for incredibly appreciative non-millionaires...We do lots of ADU's and smaller houses, treating each project like a multigenerational and flexible use compound. We are very active rebuilding Altadena with over 20 new houses in the works. Each house is fast/custom/with affordable design services, we are charting new ground here.
Our business model is different from most architects because we work on smaller projects, we work on many at a time. Work here involves being able to move between projects seamlessly and trusting our process
WHAT YOU’LL DO (Duties and Responsibilities) Designer
Assist Principals in presentations and design, learn how to make amazing small spaces, compounds, and happy clients. Do this in the Altadena fire rebuild areas.
Collaborate with the team to design and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent design and programming skills at multiple scales with intense curiosity and excellent aesthetic sensibilities.
Work closely with the project team, consultants, and contractors.
Help team assemble/ review interior design, allowances, and specifications. Interiors interest/experience appreciated!
Leadership
Lots of room to grow within the company and a hands on experience at all levels of design and construction.
Build independence and maturity and produce physical built work. Learn spacecraft. Practice what it takes to make real things quickly.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING/WHO YOU ARE (Qualifications)
A professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch) (M.Arch. preferred) from an accredited institution.
3-6 years of experience in progressive, design-focused firms.
Experience in custom design residential projects.
Exceptional design sense with strong graphic and technical skills (e.g., fluency in CAD, Sketchup, Enscape, and Adobe Creative Suite).
Team playing, flexible, and cooperative problem solver with a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills.
Capable of taking direction and initiative with minimal supervision.
Authorization to work in the U.S.
