As a Commercial Solar Account Executive you will be responsible for driving full-cycle deals in new markets. You need strong business and financial acumen. Your innate "make it happen" mentality will be crucial in achieving success in this position.

Responsibilities

Business Development: Identify and target potential commercial solar customers in new markets. Develop and execute a strategic plan to generate leads, establish relationships, and drive sales growth.

Sales Cycle Management: Lead the entire sales process from initial prospecting and qualification to closing deals. Conduct thorough needs assessments, create customized solar solutions, and present compelling proposals to clients.

Financial Analysis: Possess a strong understanding of financial concepts related to solar energy & business, including return on investment (ROI), net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR), tax incentives, and financing options. Conduct financial analyses to demonstrate the financial benefits of solar energy solutions to clients.

Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including facility managers, property owners, and C-suite executives. Understand their unique needs and pain points, and position solar energy as a viable solution to address those needs.

Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes in the solar energy sector. Continuously monitor market conditions and identify opportunities for business growth.

Proposal Development: Collaborate with internal teams to develop comprehensive and competitive proposals tailored to meet customer requirements. Ensure proposals are accurate, compelling, and delivered in a timely manner.

Negotiation and Closing: Lead contract negotiations with clients, addressing any concerns or objections while ensuring a win-win outcome. Close deals in a timely manner, achieving or exceeding sales targets and revenue goals.

Requirements

Experience in B2B sales or related technical &/or financial centered roles, with a proven track record of driving sales growth and closing deals with C-suite executives & business owners.

Business and Financial Acumen: Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of financial concepts related to solar energy, such as ROI, NPV, IRR and tax incentives. Ability to conduct financial analyses and present persuasive business cases to clients.

Self-Motivation and Drive: Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced sales environment. Possess an inherent "make it happen" mentality and a "hunter and hustle" approach to sales.

Communication and Presentation Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to deliver compelling presentations and proposals to a diverse audience, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain relationships with customers, colleagues, and industry contacts. Possess a consultative sales approach, and the ability to understand and address customer needs effectively.

Preferred Experience

Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the solar energy industry, including knowledge of solar technologies, market trends, and regulatory landscape. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and emerging technologies in the field.

Other relevant career experience that can translate well into this role: Commercial real estate brokerage, equipment sales, technical sales, software sales, sales engineer, consulting, banking.
