Ozarks First in Springfield, Missouri, has an immediate opening for a newscast Producer. We are looking for someone who can create compelling, relevant, and interactive news segments that showcase our personalities. We’re looking for a strong communicator and a collaborator. You must be someone who can see the big picture, as well as someone with an eye for details. Responsibilities
Select and prioritize stories that provide our viewers with a mix of news, talkers, and sports relevant to the Ozarks. Work with managers to execute our strategy that includes a mix of content from broadcast (traditional), website (fresh/visual), social media (interactive), and CTV (streaming app). Write concise and conversational stories. Pace and energy are critical. Produce error-free work. Must be a stickler for details. Leads during severe weather and breaking news coverage. Communicate and collaborate professionally and respectfully with your coworkers. Qualifications
College degree in journalism or a related field, and experience with broadcast and digital storytelling. Must have a desire to win, a positive attitude, and the ability to reflect on your work and apply feedback. Ability to research and employ critical thinking skills to dig beyond the headline and verify incoming emails and news tips. Strong time management skills are essential. Work with urgency and accuracy. Must maintain composure, especially during breaking news or deadline pressure. Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
