The Social Media Specialist is responsible for managing and evolving the company’s social media presence across all platforms to strengthen brand awareness, engagement, and community connection. This role develops and executes content strategies that align with Atkins Kroll’s brand voice, marketing priorities, and campaign objectives while staying current on social media trends and best practices.
Working closely with the Public Relations role and Marketing Strategists, the Social Media Specialist supports campaigns, launches, events, and ongoing initiatives by creating compelling, platform-appropriate content that reflects the company’s values and connects with audiences in a meaningful way. This role is responsible for concepting, creating and publishing original social-first content, including short-form video, photography, and written posts, to support campaigns, events and day-to-day brand storytelling.
The Social Media Specialist works within the Marketing team and collaborates closely with their counterparts within the marketing team. The Social Media Specialist works cross-functionally with all business units and reports to the Marketing Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Social Media Management
– Maintain a social media content calendar aligned with marketing campaigns, promotions, events, and seasonal initiatives. Monitors platform performance and engagement, using insights to optimize content and posting cadence.
Content Development & Execution -
Develop and publish original social media content, including copy, visuals, short-form video, stories, and reels. Collaborate with the Graphic Artist, Public Relations role, and Marketing Strategists to execute campaign and storytelling initiatives across social channels. Adapt content for platform-specific formats, trends, and best practices.
Brand Voice & Messaging
– Uphold and consistently apply the company’s brand voice, tone, and visual standards across all social platforms. Engage with the community by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and brand-appropriate manner. Support community initiatives, partnerships, and events through planned and real-time social coverage.
Trend Awareness & Optimization
– Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, and emerging best practices. Identify opportunities to test new content formats and features that align with brand goals. Proactively recommend improvements to existing social pages and content approaches.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
– Work closely with the Public Relations role to support press announcements, community initiatives, and external messaging. Partner with Marketing Strategists to execute campaigns, promotions, and launches across social channels. Coordinate with internal teams to gather content, approvals, and information needed to support department initiatives.
