The Hotel Sales Manager is responsible for proactively soliciting, developing, and managing group account business for
The Blackwell Inn and Pfahl Conference Center at OSU . This role requires a high‑energy, relationship‑driven sales professional with exceptional communication and organizational skills. Responsibilities
Business Development & Revenue Growth
Aggressively solicits and develops new group business to exceed established revenue goals for assigned market segments. Actively pursues and closes business opportunities by participating in strategic sales initiatives designed to maximize revenue. Generates and executes targeted sales plans and strategies to achieve or surpass revenue and market share goals. Maintains relationships with past clients while continuously identifying new business to expand the hotel’s client base. Account & Client Management
Manages assigned accounts to ensure superior guest satisfaction and proper execution of all group requirements. Ensures timely and accurate turnover of business to operational departments, in accordance with hotel standards. Communicates promptly and professionally with internal and external clients, responding to leads efficiently and with a high level of service. Represents the property to prospective customers through property tours, presentations, and detailed consultation with event planners and coordinators. Listens to and resolves client concerns with professionalism, even in challenging situations. Operational Excellence
Manages multiple projects simultaneously while meeting all deadlines and maintaining exceptional attention to detail. Works effectively under pressure in a unique hotel and market that is fast‑paced, demonstrating flexibility, organization, and a collaborative spirit. Ensures all client needs and expectations are met or exceeded throughout the sales and event planning process. Skills & Qualifications
Strong verbal and written communication skills with confidence, professionalism, and a positive attitude. Exceptional time‑management, prospecting, and negotiation skills, with the ability to self‑motivate and work independently. Creative, energetic, and team‑oriented mindset. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products; experience with
Amadeus/Delphi sales systems
and
OPERA PMS
preferred. Ability to work a
flexible schedule
that includes some evenings and weekends, consistent with the 24/7 operations of The Blackwell Inn. The Blackwell Inn is a 24/7 operation, and as such, this position will operate with a flexible schedule, including ability for a remote day, and will require some evening and weekend hours.
