Our client is a well-established, relationship-driven CPA firm based in San Rafael, CA, serving closely held businesses, high-net-worth individuals, and family groups. They are seeking an experienced Tax Senior or Tax Manager to join their growing team and play a key role in client service and firm growth.
Responsibilities
Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, and C corporations.
Manage multiple client engagements from planning through completion, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
Provide proactive tax planning and consulting to clients, including entity structuring, multi-state issues, and year-round advisory support.
Research and interpret tax laws and regulations; prepare tax memoranda and communicate findings to clients and internal teams.
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, building long-term relationships and acting as a trusted advisor.
Review work prepared by junior staff and provide coaching, mentorship, and technical guidance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
CPA license or CPA-eligible strongly preferred.
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in public accounting tax.
Experience with Lacerte highly preferred.
Experience with individual and business tax returns required; exposure to high-net-worth clients is a plus.
Strong technical tax knowledge and research skills.
Excellent communication skills and a client-focused mindset.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a collaborative, small-firm environment.
