PCB eCAD Engineer - DX Designer
Global Connect Technologies, Detroit, Michigan, United States, 48228
The PCB eCAD Engineer will take complete ownership of PCB eCAD design activities, including schematic-to-layout development, customer and cross-functional team interactions, and final manufacturing deliverables. The role requires strong technical expertise in high-speed, mixed-signal, and RF PCB designs using Siemens Xpedition tools, along with a thorough understanding of industry standards and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Own end-to-end PCB eCAD design activities from schematic review to final Gerber release. Perform PCB placement, constraint definition, layer stack-up creation, and power plane design. Route electrical nets, including high-speed, differential, and critical signals with proper length matching. Define and manage design constraints using Constraint Editor, including creepage, clearance, and impedance rules. Generate fabrication and assembly outputs including Gerbers, drill files, drawings, and related documentation. Collaborate closely with customers, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, manufacturing teams, and suppliers. Support panelization using Fablink and manage design variants using Variant Manager. Ensure compliance with industry standards, DFM/DFA guidelines, and manufacturing best practices. Guide, mentor, and support junior engineers and team members as required. Required Skills & Technical Expertise
Mandatory experience in
Siemens Xpedition Layout and DxDesigner VX . Strong knowledge of PCB eCAD library creation and management using
EDM flow . Hands-on experience with
Constraint Editor, Fablink (panelization), Variant Manager, and Drawing Editor . Solid understanding of PCB design flow from
schematics to Gerber release . Experience with
Digital, Analog, and Mixed-Signal
PCB designs. Expertise in
high-speed PCB routing , power plane design, creepage and clearance rules, and length matching. Working knowledge of high-speed interfaces such as
SATA, DDR4, DDR5, USB, Ethernet, PCIe, PMIC , etc. Exposure to
RF PCB design
concepts and practices. Good understanding of
industry standards , fabrication, and assembly processes. Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Associate degree (BS/BA or AS/AA) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field. 8–10 years of relevant experience
in PCB eCAD design. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
