Job Summary The Operations Specialist is a full-time role based at Georgia Southern University's Statesboro campus, dedicated to facilitating event and visitation needs through on- and off-campus partnerships, budget management, and exceptional customer service to campus guests. This role provides organization and administrative support to the Events and Visitation teams, offering students a personalized and seamless experience. The position represents the university at recruitment events and provides informational sessions and tours as needed to prospective students and families. Reporting to the Associate Director of Events and Visitation, the Administrative Specialist upholds the values of service, collaboration, and excellence advocated by the Division of Enrollment, Marketing, and Student Success.
Responsibilities
Works with the Coordinator of Visitation to coordinate details for daily tours
Manages events' budget and collaborates with the Assistant to the Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Management to collect and pay invoices
Manages the Visitation email account and routes inquiries to admissions/university staff
Works with the Associate Director of Events and Visitation to order event-related supplies
Provides excellent customer service while ensuring confidential information is secure
Provides daily tours and information sessions as needed
Assists with planning and coverage of external events as needed
Communicates with on- and off-campus facilities to reserve and prepare space for Admissions-related events
Qualifications Educational Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Experience
Two or more years of related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Experience
Experience managing a budget and event planning
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Consistently exhibit engaging customer service
Ability to support various constituencies served by the University
Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for the position
Proficiency with computer accessories, spreadsheets, and databases
Knowledge
Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet institutional goals and support the University's mission for student success
Skills
Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills
