Legal Writing and Content Manager

Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
– Own and maintain a rolling editorial calendar aligned to priority practice areas, key geographies, and core client journeys; develop content themes (e.g., Divorce 101) and ongoing series; collaborate with Growth Marketing to align content with campaigns and with the Director of Marketing to ensure brand alignment.
Content Creation (On‑Site & Long‑Form)
– Write and edit high‑quality content for practice area landing pages, educational blogs, guides, FAQs, attorney bios, thought leadership pieces; transform interview material into clear, accessible content; maintain consistent brand voice.
PR, Thought Leadership & Partnerships
– Coordinate with leadership, attorneys, and external partners to secure expert commentary, podcast appearances, media mentions; support bylined articles and co‑marketing partnerships with therapists, financial planners, mediators.
Awards
– Own the calendar, research, submission, and tracking of attorney, staff, and firm award nominations.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration with Growth & Email Teams
– Prioritize content supporting campaigns; provide source material for short‑form video, webinars, and social content; supply modular content for nurture flows; partner on creative visuals and infographics.
Content Maintenance & Governance
– Audit and refresh content; maintain organized inventory; ensure compliance with state bar rules and legal advertising guidelines; keep brand voice consistent; execute other duties as assigned, including remote‑first work requirements.
Qualifications
5+ years’ experience in content marketing, legal writing, copywriting, or editorial in the legal industry.
Juris Doctor from an ABA‑accredited law school.
Experience in legal, professional services, healthcare, or another highly regulated, high‑trust category.
Strong portfolio of long‑form educational content that builds trust and drives conversions.
Practical PR/earned media experience, including coordinating placements and running contributor programs.
Demonstrated interviewing skills, ability to convert complex ideas into structured content.
Working knowledge of on‑page SEO best practices and ability to measure content performance.
Highly organized, deadline‑driven, comfortable in fast‑paced environment.
Familiarity with family law topics or strong interest.
Proficient with Microsoft Suite, Adobe, Zoom.
Availability for evenings and weekends as needed.
Skills and Competencies
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
Ability to translate legal concepts into accessible language.
Strong judgment around tone, client sensitivity, and legal advertising guidelines.
Ability to synthesize interviews into structured, high‑quality content.
