The Copywriter is responsible for crafting

clear, concise, and brand-aligned copy

across a wide range of creative outputs. This role translates marketing messaging and content direction into

pithy, effective language

that works across digital, print, experiential, and interactive formats.

The Copywriter partners closely with brand designers, video producers, and experience teams to ensure concepts and language enhances storytelling and supports visual and interactive execution.

Key Responsibilities

Write and adapt copy for:

Advertising (digital, print, OOH)

Campaigns and marketing materials

Trade show graphics and experiences

Web and interactive content

Presentations and executive-facing materials

Translate marketing inputs and messaging guidance into:

Headlines and subheads

Short-form and long-form copy

Scannable, audience-appropriate content

Ensure consistency in brand voice, tone, and terminology

Collaborate with designers to ensure concepts, copy and visuals work together effectively

Iterate copy based on feedback, approvals, and compliance requirements

Support development of reusable messaging and copy frameworks

Maintain familiarity with brand standards and messaging guidelines

Required Experience & Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Communications or related field and 4+ years of professional copywriting experience. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree requirements.

Strong portfolio demonstrating:

Advertising and campaign copy

Marketing and brand storytelling

Adaptability across channels and formats

Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills

Ability to write clearly for complex or technical subject matter

Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional teams

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in B2B, technology, or related industries

Experience writing for experiential, interactive, or trade show environments

Familiarity with compliance or approval-driven workflows

Background in journalism, communications, marketing, or related field

Pay Range: Pay Range $65,650.00 - $118,675.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
