Position Overview We are seeking a
Social Media Specialist
to join a Corporate Communications team focused on telling compelling stories across social media platforms that highlight how the organization serves its patients, colleagues, and communities.
Reporting to the Communications Manager of Social Media, this role supports enterprise-wide social media strategy by discovering, developing, and distributing engaging content across branded social media channels. The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller with strong writing skills, experience producing social-first content, and a solid understanding of social media trends and best practices.
This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong grasp of AP Style, and the ability to adapt messaging for multiple audiences with creativity, clarity, and impact.
Key Responsibilities Content Strategy & Creation
Collaborate with the Communications Manager of Social Media and corporate stakeholders to identify and prioritize effective social media storytelling opportunities
Write clear, concise, and engaging social media posts, captions, graphic copy, and video scripts
Develop and support organic social media campaigns aligned with reputation strategy, PR initiatives, and key observances
Publishing & Platform Management
Curate, schedule, post, edit, and monitor content in alignment with the corporate editorial calendar and brand objectives
Manage regular posting across corporate social media platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Instagram, and YouTube
Creative Collaboration
Partner with creative design, photo, and video teams to execute high-quality visual content
Implement brand storytelling through colleague, expert, patient, and partner testimonials
Engagement & Community Management
Participate in social media conversations to encourage dialogue and build brand awareness
Support social media monitoring during crisis communications or disaster response events, escalating issues proactively and using sound professional judgment
Analytics & Reporting
Develop performance reports using internal benchmarks, industry standards, and KPIs
Provide insights and recommendations to improve content performance and engagement
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with PR, marketing, consumer content, internal communications, and HR teams to ensure alignment across digital and traditional communication channels
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required , preferably in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, Multimedia Content, or a related field
2–3 years of experience
in social media, public relations, communications, journalism, agency work, content strategy, or content marketing
Minimum of 2 years of professional writing experience
(writing samples required during interview process)
Exceptional AP Style writing and editing skills with a strong eye for grammar, punctuation, tone, and voice
Experience using social media publishing and management tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite or similar platforms)
Understanding of social media KPIs and ability to interpret metrics to optimize engagement and performance
Strong storytelling skills paired with technical proficiency
Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with diverse teams
Highly motivated, creative, and self-directed
Preferred Qualifications
Background in healthcare communications or familiarity with healthcare industry trends (preferred, not required)
Experience with video, audio, and photo editing tools
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint
