Description :
Develops software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, and studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes. Investigates problem areas. Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
The Department of Information Resources (DIR) requires the services of One Software Engineer hereafter referred to as Worker, who meets the general qualification of Cloud Data Architect and the specifications outlined in this document for Client - Social Services Applications team. The Cloud Data Architect will provide strategic guidance in the development process, make technical decisions regarding solutions and explain how they will impact the organization.
As part of Client IT Applications Social Services Applications initiatives, the Cloud Data Architect will be responsible for:
Develop Database migration Cloud strategy
Integrate on-premises Databases with Cloud Databases
Perform database installation, upgrades, capacity planning, data migration, and performance monitoring across multiple database server architectures/systems
Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions to minimize database downtime for planned/unplanned outages
Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) on Database Cloud Security
Implement Oracle migration to PostgreSQL in HA deployments
Ensure Client best practices and methodologies are applied to the design, deployment, and operations in the cloud.
Define and develop blueprints and roadmaps for building solutions in the cloud (preferably AWS)
Ensure compliance with enterprise security configuration standards
Work closely with other teams to ensure solutions are engineered and deployed meet business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Provide cloud operational guidance both internal and external operation teams
Investigate and provide feedback on new AWS services and solutions.
Performing continuous research on emerging technologies to stay updated with the best alternatives, investigate and provide feedback on new services and solutions offered by the CSP
Providing technical oversight, review, and quality control throughout the life cycle of the implementations
Engaging with Cloud service provider around solving technical problems in the Cloud ecosystem
Support DevOps functions to best utilize cloud resources with software configuration management and continuous integration tools.
The Cloud Solution Architect will perform other duties as assigned.
Education
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in computer science, computer information systems, engineering, or management information systems is preferred.
