Overview:
Executive Director provides organizational leadership, serving as a Board liaison, as well as monitoring all fiscal management. Supervises Principal and handles all personnel issues to ensure the overall programs are effective. Plan and implement major fundraising events and marketing needs to promote all programming.
Organizational Leadership/Board Liaison
Lead staff, manage organization, inspire and motivate staff, ensure sufficient work environment and equipment.
Handle personnel issues for all staff.
Ensure overall program quality and effectiveness (Phoenix Recovery Academy, Foundation, etc.)
Maintain alignment between all programs and the overall vision, mission, and core values.
Key point of contact with non-referral sources. Conduct legislative and public policy advocacy.
Report to the board and maintain a positive, working relationship with the Board. It is incumbent upon the ED to keep the Board informed of all financial and legal matters, and to work with board members on the various committees. The ED is expected to attend committee meetings, within reason, and to share updates on the school and bring back recommendations from the committees to be implemented in practice. Work with the board on strategic planning and implementation.
Fiscal Management
Monitor School and Foundation Budget, reporting and donor tracking
Assist with accounting: Bookkeeping, Invoicing, Bank deposit log, Donation Receipts, Reimbursements, Check Requests, and preparation of financial documents
Grant management: Researching grants, Writing grants, Collect, conduct and ensure all data tracking for outcome measures for grants and internal reviews
Participate in finance, financial aid and scholarship committee meetings
Mailbox-check and file
Human Resources
Supervises direct reports in a manner that promotes success, efficiency, and on-going development. This includes effective delegation; training, development, and support of staff; establishing performance requirements; and evaluating staff supervised.
Onboard all employees, volunteers, and interns
Write and produce policy and procedure manuals for both the school and staff.
Create job postings, Screen job candidates, schedule interviews, follow up emails
Marketing/Fundraising Events
Monthly newsletter and events/important announcements
Research/information gathering for new ideas for foundation
Additional tasks as directed by the President and other board members
Social media messages, posts
Plan and implement marketing needs (data gathering, work with designer)
Event Management: Including, but not limited to Co-Chair Golf Tournament/Gala/5K – logistic coordination, communicate with sponsors & vendors, event flyers/documents, spreadsheets (track), schedule speaking engagements
