Key Responsibilities:
- Develop AI-driven solutions to enhance Sponsored Brands advertiser and shopper experiences, including building recommendation systems with generative models.
- Invent and design innovative solutions to scientifically complex challenges and identify opportunities within new business initiatives.
- Steer the design of sophisticated software solutions or systems, contributing significantly to key scientific innovations and taking ownership of critical components.
- Define a long-term vision and strategic roadmap for our Sponsored Brands advertising business, translating customer needs into actionable plans for applied scientists and engineering teams.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and product managers to design, implement, and launch AI solutions from start to finish.
- Design and conduct A/B experiments to assess proposed solutions through thorough data analysis.
- Think strategically about the evolution of Generative AI over multiple years, identifying new opportunities to apply technology for real-world solutions.
- Communicate technical and non-technical ideas effectively to teammates and stakeholders.
- Translate complex scientific challenges into practical solutions that create impact for business stakeholders.
- Stay informed on advancements in modeling techniques in the field.

Our team is focused on inventing, defining, and delivering advertising products that drive brand discovery and sales, generating significant revenue and fostering long-term growth for Amazon Store businesses.
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in building models for business applications.
- PhD or Master's degree with 4+ years of experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or equivalent.
- Experience in algorithms, data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, and parallel computing.
- A deep curiosity and foundational knowledge of Generative AI.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using Unix/Linux environments.
- Experience in professional software development.
- Previous work with agents or Large Language Models (LLMs).
