Overview Location: Quincy, IL Pay Range: $16.12 – $24.18 per hour | Based on Relevant Experience Schedule: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (some variability based on departmental needs)

About The Role As a Credit Specialist at Quincy Medical Group, you will play an important role in supporting the revenue cycle by accurately processing patient and insurance credits. This position focuses on reviewing accounts, resolving credit balances, and ensuring timely and accurate refunds while maintaining compliance with payer guidelines and organizational policies.

Responsibilities

Review patient and insurance accounts to identify and resolve credit balances.

Process refunds accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with payer and organizational guidelines.

Research account discrepancies and collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing and posting issues.

Maintain accurate documentation and notes within the billing system.

Communicate professionally with patients, payers, and internal departments regarding credit inquiries.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer regulations related to refunds and overpayments.

Assist with audits, reporting, and reconciliation activities as needed.

Support continuous process improvement efforts within the revenue cycle.

Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental operations.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

Prior experience in medical billing, accounts receivable, or revenue cycle preferred.

Familiarity with insurance payments, adjustments, and refund processing is a plus.

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to manage multiple accounts while meeting deadlines.

Proficient in computer systems and electronic billing platforms.
