Description
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Sales professional to represent MacQueen in territory covering Illinois to sell cutting-edge fire-fighting gear and equipment. In this role, you will be a road warrior, building and nurturing relationships with fire departments, municipalities, and emergency service providers across the designated territory, helping them find the products that best suit their operational needs. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong sales skills, a deep understanding of the emergency services industry, and a commitment to supporting those who protect our communities.
Essential Duties Demonstrate and communicate product specifications and their benefits to customers
Demonstrate products and assist prospective accounts to select those that best suit their needs
Support customers from start-to-delivery and throughout the customer lifecycle
Know and follow a defined sales process: 5-4-3-2-1 Sales Methodology
Employ a “consultative selling” approach to identify and manage customer needs and expectations gaining a “trusted advisor” relationship
Understand the competition to maintain the MacQueen’s competitive advantage
Maintain good customer relations; intervene to solve problems and disputes
Use CRM to track customer activity, record Fleet and sales “forecast” including all wins and losses
Maintain current knowledge of financing options to assist customers with securing the purchase of new and used apparatus
Other duties as assigned
Essential Qualifications Knowledge and experience with firefighting equipment
Minimum 3 years’ Sales experience in direct or related industry
Working knowledge of CRM, CDK (ERP)
Must be highly motivated, results-oriented and self-starter
Excellent skills in communication, interpersonal, organizational and attention to detail
Proficient usage of MS Office Suite and the ability to learn new technologies quickly
ADA Requirements Stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, reach or otherwise move frequently
Occasional repetitive motion and grasping; climbing to reach areas on equipment
Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. occasionally, >20 lbs. frequently
Typically sits, grasp items and performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer
Travel by car frequently, by air occasionally
Initial Base Salary:
$70k annually during the training and ramp up period (typically 12 months)
Commission Transition:
After the initial period, salary transitions to 100% commission-based structure, with unlimited earning potential based on your performance.
