Electrical Preconstruction Director (Orlando, Florida) Position Overview
The Electrical Preconstruction Director (Orlando, Florida) will oversee preconstruction, VDC/BIM, and prefabrication strategy. This role is responsible for aligning digital delivery, prefabrication, and estimating with field execution to drive safety, productivity, and project outcomes.
Electrical Preconstruction Director Responsibilities
Lead VDC/BIM, estimating, and prefabrication strategy from preconstruction through field installation.
Oversee development of virtual models and digital coordination to support constructability, sequencing, logistics, and prefab execution.
Drive early identification and execution of prefabrication opportunities, ensuring alignment with estimates and VDC models.
Evaluate and implement new BIM/VDC tools, automation workflows, and model‑to‑machine technologies.
Track and analyze prefab and preconstruction KPIs, including productivity, labor savings, cost, quality, and schedule performance.
Ensure seamless collaboration and handoff between Estimating, VDC, Prefab, Procurement, Safety, and Operations teams.
Provide leadership, performance management, and professional development for multidisciplinary preconstruction teams.
Electrical Preconstruction Director Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
7+ years of leadership experience in electrical estimating, VDC/BIM, prefabrication, or preconstruction functions.
Proven success leading multidisciplinary teams on large-scale commercial construction projects.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction means and methods, NEC standards, and digital design workflows.
Proficiency with Revit, BIM/VDC platforms, Bluebeam, Accubid, Autodesk tools, and project management systems.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Experience with prefab automation, CNC workflows, or model‑to‑machine integration preferred.
Bilingual skills are a plus.
