Senior Collector
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Collector to join our team. In this role, you will manage and resolve complex collection accounts, negotiate payment arrangements, and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations. You will also mentor junior collectors and contribute to improving overall collection performance.
Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of delinquent accounts and contact customers to collect outstanding balances.
Negotiate payment plans and settlements while maintaining positive customer relationships.
Analyze customer financial situations to determine the best collection approach.
Handle escalated collection cases and provide solutions for difficult accounts.
Ensure compliance with all company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
Maintain accurate records of all collection activities in the system.
Assist in developing and implementing collection strategies to improve recovery rates.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior collectors.
Collaborate with internal teams such as customer service and legal to resolve disputes.
Skills and Qualifications
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in collections.
Education: High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to handle high-pressure situations professionally.
Proficiency with collection software, CRM tools, Microsoft Office, etc.
Knowledge of collections laws and regulations (e.g., FDCPA, CFPB).
