Student Responsibilities
Capture photo and video content for IEI events, including workshops, guest speakers, class presentations, pitch sessions, and community gatherings. Film interviews, testimonials, and project features with students, faculty, and guest participants. Edit video content into polished, compelling pieces suitable for web and social platforms (short-form and long-form). Organize and maintain IEI’s digital media assets. Collaborate with IEI staff on content concepts, storyboards, and visual strategy. Ensure all content adheres to The New School’s brand and accessibility guidelines. Strong videography and photography skills, with experience shooting in various settings (events, interviews, classrooms). Proficiency in photo/video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop/Lightroom, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar). Ability to create dynamic, engaging content optimized for multiple social media platforms. Strong sense of visual storytelling, composition, and pacing. Excellent time management and ability to work independently. Professionalism when interacting with faculty, students, staff, and external guests. Portfolio or website with recent video and photography work is required. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with motion graphics or simple animations. Experience creating short-form social content (Instagram Reels, TikTok-style edits, YouTube Shorts). Comfort with both DSLR/mirrorless cameras and smartphone-based content capture. Job Family
