The Impact Entrepreneurship Initiative (IEI) at The New School offers a two-year graduate fellowship experience for high-potential leaders committed to creating social impact through entrepreneurship while pursuing a master’s degree at The New School. The mission of IEI is to promote a shift in the practice of organizational formation and collaboration from extractive to generative values. We believe in advancing democratic principles and mutual and equitable relations as a university-wide initiative. Together we develop entrepreneurial skills and ways to employ inclusive design approaches to bring about innovation in the world. By challenging the status quo, we center our efforts on strengthening relationships with one another and our communities, aiming to see and design with respect, care, and concern. IEI seeks a motivated and creative Marketing, PR & Communications Assistant to support strategic communications across digital platforms. This role is ideal for a student with strong writing, branding, and content strategy skills who is ready to contribute immediately. The assistant will help shape and execute a cohesive communications strategy that elevates IEI’s visibility, strengthens brand consistency, and amplifies student, faculty, and program impact. Academic or professional background in marketing, communications, public relations, media studies, or a related field. Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences and platforms. Understanding of branding principles and experience delivering on-brand messaging. Familiarity with social media platforms and best practices for content distribution. Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders. Comfortable collaborating across departments and working independently. Professional, proactive, and detail-oriented. Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing or executing a content calendar or communications strategy. Familiarity with higher education or mission-driven organizations. Basic analytics experience (social media insights, email metrics). Experience working with CMS platforms or email marketing tools.
