Position Summary Responsible for providing overall leadership and management of the health and well‑being of the residents within the community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Ensures the community follows all federal, state, local laws and regulations as they pertain to clinical care.

Collects, analyzes, and reports occurrence trends, and if necessary develops and implements improvement plans.

Partners with the Administrator and other team members to analyze and maintain resident and team member health safety.

Collaborates with pharmacy consultants to provide optimal pharmaceutical services to residents.

Provides clinical expertise to licensed nurses.

Assists with educational presentations as assigned by the administrator.

Identifies ongoing needs and services of residents through the assessment/service plan process, including documentation for residents with a change in health‑care status.

Oversees completion of monthly updates and reports pertinent changes to the responsible party.

Consults with other department coordinators to identify, review, and discuss potential changes in service/medication levels when applicable.

Ensures resident service plans are updated in accordance with state regulations.

Participates in community awareness activities and community relations.

Makes communications with residents’ families and/or responsible parties regarding changes in care or health concerns.

Informs the Business Office of fee changes related to care needs, if applicable.

Schedules clinical staff on a monthly basis.

Ensures adequate clinical supplies are available.

Participates in a rotating on‑call schedule.

Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities Provides supervision to LPNs, Certified Nursing Assistants, and others as assigned to assure delivery of consistently high‑quality care to residents. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Educational Requirements and Experience

Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in good standing; Registered Nurse preferred.

One (1) year in a nursing leadership role; senior‑living experience preferred.

BSL Certification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Language ability.

Mathematical skills.

Cognitive demands.

Computer skills – proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new applications.

Competencies – demonstrates interest in working with a senior population; communicates effectively in primary resident language; reads and interprets documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals; writes routine reports and correspondence; applies common sense in routine instructions; interacts with guests, residents, and staff in a courteous and friendly manner; responds promptly to resident needs.

Environmental Adaptability

Primarily indoors in a climate‑controlled setting.

May be exposed to blood and/or body fluids with potential exposure to hazardous materials and infectious diseases.

Possible exposure to unpleasant odors and chemicals as identified in the MSDS Manual.

Physical Requirements Regularly stands and walks; uses hands to handle or feel; reaches with hands and arms; talks or hears. Occasionally stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. Must regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance of a second employee and/or mechanical devices. Must be able to push up to 350 lb. (wheelchair). Specific vision abilities required include close vision and distance vision.
