The Technical Sales Specialist will work with customers and company account managers to provide technical inside sales support for New Products, Shop, and Field Services.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
Provide technical guidance to customers regarding valve selection, specifications, and applications.
Prepare and follow up on quotes, sales orders, and purchase orders for new products, repair, and service work.
Collaborate with manufacturers and vendors for special orders and technical support.
Work with purchasing and inventory teams to confirm product availability and lead times.
Assist customers in troubleshooting and problem resolution.
Coordinate with service supervisor on upcoming field service requirements.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships to drive repeat business.
Identify opportunities for upselling or offering alternative solutions.
Support the outside sales team with customer account management.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of various types of valve products.
Understand materials, pressure ratings, flow characteristics, and industry standards (API, ASME, ANSI, etc.).
Stay updated on new product offerings, industry trends, and competitor products.
Qualifications , Knowledge, and skills
High School diploma or equivalent
At least 3 years of customer sales experience required.
Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
Well-developed written and oral communication skills
Excellent customer service and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
