Job Description The Director of Digital Fundraising is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for building, scaling, and optimizing the organization’s digital individual giving program. This position leads strategy and execution across digital fundraising channels to drive donor acquisition, retention, and revenue growth while ensuring alignment with overall development, marketing, and communications initiatives.
This role partners closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver integrated, data‑driven fundraising campaigns and exceptional donor experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Build and manage the digital fundraising program end to end, including strategy development, execution, and optimization
Lead digital fundraising efforts across email, paid social, peer‑to‑peer, search, SMS, and website giving
Manage donor journeys, segmentation, testing, and lifecycle communications using fundraising and eCRM platforms
Oversee digital strategies for sustaining and recurring giving programs
Develop integrated campaigns that align online and offline fundraising initiatives
Collaborate with marketing, communications, web, and social teams to ensure consistent donor experiences
Analyze campaign performance, donor behavior, and retention metrics to deliver actionable insights
Provide clear reporting and recommendations to senior leadership
Ensure digital fundraising initiatives align with organizational goals, brand guidelines, and compliance standards
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience
7+ years of experience in digital fundraising or digital campaign management
Proven success growing digital revenue and donor engagement
Hands‑on experience with digital fundraising and CRM platforms such as Fundraise Up, Engaging Networks, DotDigital, Luminate Online, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or similar tools
Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills
Ability to collaborate and lead initiatives in a matrixed environment
Passion for mission‑driven work and social impact
