Position Summary This role focuses on representing and selling Bendix product lines within a defined commercial vehicle territory, requiring technical knowledge, strategic customer management, and significant travel. It involves promoting products to fleets, dealers, and distributors while maintaining customer relationships and internal reporting. The role also involves maintaining CRM/C4C, meeting internal tasks, and supporting Bendix industry activities.

Essential Functions

Responsible and accountable for all strategic customer activity in a defined territory; fleets with 250‑750 power units, all dealership activity for parts and fleet specs related to 250‑750 power units, and Bendix distributor network with key focus on aftermarket parts sales.

Assist in identifying and managing strategic relationships at 35‑50 fleets to drive fleet spec and aftermarket business.

Achieve key performance objectives within the appropriate timeframe as outlined by personal performance targets and overall organization sales targets.

Requires 60‑70% travel to customer locations, regional meetings and industry events.

Lead sales calls at distributor, dealer, and fleet customer level to promote/sell Bendix and affiliates product lines.

Assist in promotions with Bendix distributors and dealers to help promote/sell product lines to fleet customers.

Consistently call on fleet customers promoting Bendix quality & brand equity.

Generate interest with fleet customers to purchase and specify Bendix products and systems.

Continuously review current distribution and opportunities.

Create business plans with distributor and dealers annually to target specific growth areas.

Assist and execute internal business to drive growth initiatives.

Provide product sales & technical training at distributor, dealer and fleet customers.

Responsible to update all customer reporting requirements in the management tool (CRM).

Knowledge

General knowledge of heavy truck industry, fleet, OEMs, dealerships, suppliers, distribution channels and trade associations.

Knowledge of organizational sales policies and procedures.

Familiarity with Bendix products and their functionality.

Basic knowledge of Bendix’s customer base, their business and operations.

Knowledge of a customer reporting management tool.

Experience

A minimum of 2‑3 years sales experience within the heavy‑duty/automotive industry.

ASE Certified desired but not required.

Skills

High technical aptitude and business acumen in the commercial vehicle industry.

Customer first attitude, driven to build and prioritize customer relationships.

Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to develop creative solutions.

Self‑starter and strategic thinker for short‑term and long‑term wins.

Capable of partnering with customers to develop actionable strategic plans.

Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Strong professional presence, capable of influencing through interactions and follow‑up.

Team player with willingness to work in a matrixed organization.

Proficient in delivering professional presentations.

Rapid learner and organized work habits.

Must maintain an organized work area from a home office.

Very proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering/Technical or 5+ years of experience in the commercial vehicle industry with a proven track record.

Travel Requirements

Employee must be domiciled in the territory and located within one hour of a major airport.

Must travel 60‑70% of the time to fleets, dealerships, distributors, Bendix HQs and trade associations.

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in California or remotely is $89,900–$134,900 per year.
