
SHIIR Rugs is an artisanal rug company established in 2012 by interior designers Shea Soucie and Martin Horner of luxury interior design firm Soucie Horner Design Collective, and Oscar Tatosian and Sarkis Tatosian of Oscar Isberian Rugs. SHIIR Rugs is represented in several showrooms across the United States and Europe, including Holly Hunt; Jennifer West; De Sousa Hughes; David Sutherland; ALT for Living; David Adler; Estudio Casa; and Tim Page Carpets in London, as well as direct representation.
Job Summary
The Director of Sales at SHIIR Rugs is a senior leadership role responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth, expanding distribution channels, and building a high-performing sales organization aligned with the brand’s luxury, design-forward positioning. This leader will partner closely with Design, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to scale the business while preserving SHIIR’s craftsmanship, relationships, and reputation within the design community.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree a plus
- 10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience, preferably in luxury, design, or premium consumer goods
- Proven track record of scaling revenue and leading multi-channel sales organizations
- Strong strategic thinking paired with hands‑on execution capability
- Experience working cross‑functionally with design, marketing, operations, and finance teams
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and executive presence

Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with SHIIR Rugs’ growth objectives
- Establish annual and quarterly revenue targets and lead the organization to exceed them
- Provide regular revenue forecasting, reporting, and insights to ownership and leadership partners
- Identify new growth opportunities across products, geographies, and customer segments
- Lead, coach, and develop internal and external sales teams, including showroom partners and representatives
- Align headcount and staffing plans with growth projections
- Create a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement
- Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and compensation planning
- Continuously evaluate and optimize sales territories and distribution models (direct, showroom, partners)
- Build and manage strategic partnerships with targeted distributors and showrooms
- Explore and develop new channels of distribution, including private label and custom programs
- Oversee the sales components of SHIIR’s digital and partner portals
- Design tailored sales strategies for each showroom or sales partner
- Implement consistent pipeline management, reporting, and CRM discipline
- Ensure achievement of revenue quotas and accountability metrics
- Maintain competitive market knowledge and translate insights into actionable strategies
Product, Design & Manufacturing Collaboration
- Partner with Design to review product assortment, identify gaps, and inform product innovation
- Coordinate feedback from designers and showrooms on materials, techniques, and color trends
- Maintain working knowledge of custom development and manufacturing capabilities
- Collaborate with Operations and Manufacturing to ensure feasibility and delivery excellence
Marketing, Brand & Industry Presence
- Collaborate on marketing and PR strategy to support sales growth
- Provide input on editorial calendars, content, presentation materials, and sales campaigns
- Participate in trade shows, annual launch events, and targeted industry events
- Maintain and grow relationships with key designers, architects, and industry influencers
Operational & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Participate in annual planning, goal setting, and leadership retreats
- Align sales strategy with financial planning, inventory management, and forecasting
- Lead special projects including education initiatives, showroom training, and brand events
- Ensure exceptional customer experience and long‑term relationship management
This role operates in a hybrid office and showroom environment with regular travel required for trade shows, showroom visits, and key customer meetings.
Physical Requirements
- Periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. at times.
- Ability to drive and hold a valid driver’s license preferred.
