Sales & Marketing Director

Position Overview: We’re seeking a dynamic Sales & Marketing Director to spearhead revenue growth across key business segments, including group sales, transient bookings, and catering. This leadership role requires a forward-thinking strategist who can anticipate market shifts, analyze competitive positioning, and drive innovative approaches to exceed revenue targets. The Director will lead a high-performing sales team, manage budgets, and ensure the property’s sales and marketing efforts align with overall business objectives. Salary: $130K - $160K

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute revenue-generating strategies for group, transient, and catering segments.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and market share performance to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Serve as the customer advocate, ensuring guest needs and feedback are integrated into business strategies.
  • Leverage data from tools like STR reports, financial statements, sales forecasts, and group pace reports to inform decision-making.
  • Stay informed on market dynamics, including demand drivers, economic conditions, and competitive supply.
  • Conduct SWOT analyses and evaluate the impact of new market entrants.
  • Utilize GEO source data to identify and penetrate key markets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key accounts, while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Design and implement sales deployment strategies to optimize team performance.
  • Set measurable sales goals and ensure alignment with revenue and market share objectives.
  • Oversee group sales pacing and establish benchmarks for team success.
  • Manage sales team activities, including travel schedules and client engagement.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field preferred.
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience in Hawaii or resort sales, with a strong background in hotel sales.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proven ability to collaborate with ownership groups and asset managers.
  • Expertise in sales systems such as Delphi and property management systems (PMS).
  • Experience working closely with revenue management teams to align strategies.
  • Deep understanding of market segments and distribution channels, with the ability to craft tailored strategies for each.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
  • Demonstrated success in leading, mentoring, and motivating sales teams to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
