The Team The Healthcare Industry Group (HIG) is at the forefront of delivering transformational change to the healthcare industry. Our professionals advise organizations on financial and operational performance improvement, strategic growth and value realization across the investment lifecycle. Our team provides expertise in interim management, restructuring, revenue cycle management, M&A, compliance and regulatory, digital technology and analytics. You will work with clients in health systems and providers, physician groups, ancillary providers, medical schools, vision, laboratory, dental and behavior health; managed care and health plans, government programs, healthcare investors and lenders, medical devices, healthcare suppliers, infrastructure, and life sciences. HIG\'s Healthcare Services practice (HCS) focuses on serving private equity portfolio companies and public/private healthcare companies, offering services including performance improvement/operational turnarounds, cost optimization, M&A services, finance operations, and interim management (including CFO services). Technology Assessment:
Review and analysis of platform, data and system architectures, related applications / products, integrations, infrastructure, processes (PLC, SDLC, compliance), data (architecture, governance, BI, etc.), security, IT teams for scale, capability, cost, resilience, maintainability risk and value opportunities. Performance Improvement/Operational Turnaround : Interim management or advisory work to assess businesses and identify key areas impeding performance quickly and effectively. Cost Optimization : Cross-functional approach focusing on EBITDA and cash flow improvements across the cost structure, with transparency on cost and margin profiles to simplify and streamline the business. M&A Services : Operational/synergy due diligence, integration planning and execution, divestiture and carve-out planning and execution. Finance Operations : Improvement to clients\' finance operations, including management reporting and optimization of the month-end close process. Interim Management : In select cases, an experienced operator may assume an interim role (e.g., CEO, COO, CFO, CIO) to drive change during recruiting. How you will contribute As a Director you will be a “player-coach” – leading a team and acting as the main conduit between Healthcare clients and our team on a range of complex assignments, centered around the MedTech and medical device space. You are responsible for end-to-end delivery of projects, including: overseeing interview activities, gathering data, modeling, creating insights and deliverables, developing goals and deadlines, reviewing junior staff work, and communicating with clients. Depending on the client project, the responsibilities of a Director may include: Quickly identifying and implementing opportunities to reduce cost structure by redesigning org structures and eliminating non-value-added tasks, refocusing the business on value-added work Reviewing Go to Market strategies including portfolio assessments, pricing, sales compensation plans, sales force effectiveness, call points and competition Building and managing financial models and conducting financial and operating analyses (standalone and synergy analyses, one-time cost tracking, carve-out financials and pro forma statements) Providing project management (PMO) assistance and governance support through cost-takeout, transaction and/or integration processes Utilizing project management tools and templates to track activities and timelines (e.g., Smartsheet) Leveraging tools such as Smartsheet, Lucid, PowerBI, and Generative AI to provide efficient client solutions Guiding clients through crises by structuring and executing performance improvement plans Developing operational data analyses to create KPI metrics and drive change; conducting client interviews to understand operations Summarizing findings and creating recommendations from large data sets Leading work streams within a project and managing day-to-day engagement priorities with senior guidance Preparing client-ready deliverables and presentations; presenting to clients Coaching and mentoring junior staff Building client relationships and identifying opportunities to expand scope Supporting marketing initiatives and creation of marketing materials Helping to build product and service offering tools and templates Qualifications
We are seeking someone with an entrepreneurial and collaborative mindset who manages ambiguity and thrives in a fast-paced environment. General Skills: High energy individuals with a passion for healthcare and solving complex issues Minimum of twelve (12) years of healthcare experience with MedTech focus in commercial, engineering, operations, and/or finance; consulting and industry experience preferred. Advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency Advanced PowerPoint and Excel; experience with Visio, Tableau or Power BI, SQL, SPSS; benchmarking is a plus Ability to run an engagement with little oversight and strong PM/organizational skills Solid understanding of the M&A process including Operational and Commercial Due Diligence Working knowledge of MedTech industry channels and value chain (COGS, CRO/CMO/CDMO, etc.) Prior experience with PE firms Experience managing client engagements, deliverables and workstreams while mentoring junior staff Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present to all levels of client personnel Willingness to travel as required BA/BS and/or MBA/MS in Accounting, Finance, or healthcare fields such as MHA or MPH Commercial Skills: Familiarity with pricing structures and contracting processes (GPO/IDN, IDN contracting) Understanding of commercial channels/call points (ASCs, hospitals, home health, direct vs. distribution) Understanding of sales compensation structures High-level understanding of commercial plans, Medicare and managed care Knowledge of product profitability analyses Operational Skills: Familiarity with manufacturing processes and distribution/logistics networks Understanding of manufacturing standards and standard costing High-level inventory management understanding Knowledge of vendor consolidation analyses Knowledge of insource vs. outsourcing models Your journey at A&M
