
Assistant Director of Alumni Relations & Annual Giving

This position plays a central role in engaging alumni in the life of the university through events, communications, and annual giving.

Essential Functions
Coordinate and execute alumni events and programming in collaboration with the Director of Alumni Relations & Annual Giving, supporting initiatives that engage alumni and strengthen their connection to the mission of the university.
Support annual giving and alumni fundraising efforts by assisting with the planning, coordination, and execution of annual fund solicitations, including drafting communications, preparing mailing lists, coordinating timelines, and working with internal and external partners as needed.
Assist with young alumni engagement initiatives, including supporting outreach, programming, and stewardship efforts designed to keep recent graduates connected and involved with the university.
Identify and support the sharing of alumni success stories by collaborating with Marketing, Communications, and Advancement colleagues to elevate alumni achievements and engagement opportunities.
Support alumni mentorship and alumni–student engagement efforts, including assisting with program coordination and identifying potential alumni speakers or panelists for colloquium and campus programs.
Serve as an active member of planning committees for alumni-related campus events (e.g., Homecoming, Alumni Awards, Colloquium), assisting with logistics, communications, speaker coordination, and event execution.
Serve as a point of contact and liaison for alumni engagement, supporting communication with alumni through general correspondence, newsletters, social media, event invitations, and the alumni email inbox, while maintaining accurate and up-to-date alumni contact, career, and engagement information within the university's CRM system.
Coordinate and support external alumni and community events, working with campus departments and external partners to assist with planning, logistics, communication, and on-site execution as assigned.
Specialized Know‑How & Skills
Qualification Required: excellent communication skills including written and verbal, bachelor’s degree, excellent organizational skills
Qualifications Preferred: event planning experience, volunteer management, development of fundraising appeals
Physical Demands and Work Environment
No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
No or very limited physical effort required.
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
