ROLE OBJECTIVE/THE TEAM We are seeking a Director of IT Operations to keep our offices, networks, AV, devices, and cloud platforms running smoothly while lifting our operational maturity (ITGC, audit readiness, cyber remediation).

You’ll be a hands‑on leader who can both roll up your sleeves and set a clear operating rhythm.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Lead & coach (hands‑on): Manage a lean team dispersed across two locations with external MSP support; jump into end user escalations, root cause analysis, and fixes. Set SLOs/SLAs, determine on‑call schedule as well as provide on‑call management escalation, and run blameless post‑mortems.

Office & networking: Own LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi, firewalls, ZTNA, switching, ISPs, printing, and endpoint reliability across offices.

Audio‑Visual: Standardise and maintain Teams/Zoom Rooms, room booking; run proactive health checks and spares management.

Workplace platforms & licensing: Operate and harden Microsoft 365/Entra (identity, mail, SharePoint/OneDrive/Teams, Conditional Access, MFA); Optimise licence allocation and renewals.

Employee Onboarding & Offboarding: Further mature onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a streamlined experience for HR and staff as well as remaining compliant with data retention policies and access management best practices.

MDM Oversight & Endpoint Builds: Oversee enterprise device management across Jamf and Intune, driving secure, automated deployment and lifecycle governance for macOS, iOS, and Windows fleets. Define and maintain standardized builds, configuration profiles, and compliance baselines while integrating MDM policy with identity, security, and zero‑trust frameworks to ensure operational consistency and audit readiness.

Hardware Procurement: Strive to adhere to LIV Golf’s end user hardware policy standards and leverage economies of scale during procurement.

Asset Registers: Build and maintain technology asset registers for both hardware and software and enforce a strategy for hardware lifecycle management.

Identity Management: Manage identity solutions on a day to day basis and maintain related security software across zero trust and endpoint protection.

Cloud Operations (GCP): Oversee projects, IAM, VPC networking, monitoring/alerting, backups/DR, and cost governance; ensure reliable delivery for internal services.

Security & ITGC: Implement and run IT General Controls (access reviews, change control, backup/restore tests, incident/problem, asset/vulnerability management).

Cybersecurity & Compliance: Maintain the organization’s cybersecurity posture, protecting our data and systems from internal and external threats. This includes driving the closure of the risk register; coordinate patching, EDR, email security, phishing defence, and vulnerability remediation with the Security Engineer/MSSP.

Disaster Recovery: Implement and manage disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure operational resilience for all critical services and applications.

Service management: Mature ITIL practices (request/incident/problem/change, CMDB, knowledge); Ensure the Support Team (including MSP) provides fast, friendly service and remains data‑driven, and looking to deliver long‑term solutions to prevent future issues.

Monitoring & automation: Instrument endpoints/network/AV/cloud; script golden builds and repetitive fixes; reduce toil and MTTR. Ensure the high availability and performance of all critical systems through robust monitoring, incident response, and problem management.

Vendor management: Govern MSPs and OEMs (M365, networking, AV, endpoint, SOC/MSSP, GCP). Enforce SOWs/SLAs; hold suppliers to outcomes.

Budget & reporting: Own OpEx for IT operations; track cost per user/device; report on reliability, security posture, and progress against the risk register.

REQUIRED SKILLS/WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR FROM YOU

Proven, hands‑on IT Ops leadership in lean teams - comfortable fixing a switch port at 9am and chairing a vendor QBR at 11am.

Networking & AV: Manage Meraki network and its associated VLANs, QoS, enterprise Wi‑Fi design, deploying and supporting meeting rooms at scale.

Microsoft 365/Entra expertise: Tenant hygiene, mail hygiene, Conditional Access/MFA, SharePoint/Teams governance, licence optimisation; Intune and/or Jamf device management.

Cloud operations: GCP preferred (IAM, VPC, logging/monitoring, backups/DR, budgets/quotas). AWS/Azure experience welcome with willingness to cross over.

Security & controls: Implemented ITGC in practice; strong grasp of EDR, ZTNA/SASE, vulnerability management, and audit remediation (GDPR awareness).

ITSM: Practical ITIL (incident/problem/change), CMDB/asset management, knowledge base; experience improving CSAT, FCR, and MTTR.

Vendors & contracts: Writes tight SOWs, manages SLAs, and gets value from MSPs.

Communication & leadership: Clear, calm, personable; mentors early‑career staff and partners effectively with Finance/HR/Events/Product. Comfortable handling Executive requests.

Nice‑to‑haves: ITIL Foundation, CCNA/Network+, GCP Associate/Professional, CISSP/CISM (or equivalent experience).

YOU WILL THRIVE HERE IF

Have the user experience at your heart and want to provide the best possible employee experience.

Bias to action: You default to “how might we” and ship pragmatic fixes fast - never a “no factory.”

Startup stamina + enterprise rigour: You balance scrappy execution with disciplined controls, documentation, and audit readiness.

Player‑coach mindset: You love unblocking people, teaching as you go, and aren’t precious about titles.

Outcome‑focused: You measure success with reliability, security posture, and delighted users - not ticket volume.

Vendor whisperer: You keep suppliers honest, collaborative, and delivering to clear outcomes and timelines.

Calm under pressure: Events, executive meetings, and live incidents don’t rattle you - you prepare, communicate, and resolve.
