Responsibilities Represent the Van Buren Center professionally in the community. Understand and communicate the philosophy of the Caring Kitchen. Deliver daily information to staff and partner populations about meals, food sources, recipes, and overall Food Services program goals.
Establish procedures that maintain high standards of food service operations. Interact regularly with staff, volunteers, and guests to ensure efficient program operations.
The Food Services Director will oversee the success of the Caring Kitchen, a new Social Enterprise within the Van Buren Center. Initially responsible for tasks affiliated with a new business, including testing new ideas, new transportation methodologies, and closely monitoring and reporting on progress toward goals and performance indicators of the business.
Physical Demands Employees must sit and talk or hear frequently. Occasional standing, walking, and use of hands to finger, handle, or feel are required. Occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and distance vision. Moderate noise level in the work environment.
