The Business Development Representative (BDR) is an outbound sales position that focuses on building relationships with Mortgage Brokers, Real Estate Agents, and other individuals and organizations as opportunities present themselves. The goal of this position is to keep Bellco top-of-mind as the financial institution of choice for all loan and deposit products, with a focus on Home Equity Line of Credit. In a crowded competitive marketplace, the BDR will work to build strong relationships with key employees by consistently providing excellent service and providing education on product offerings. The BDR will actively manage a set of key accounts but will also provide backup and support to the branches’ outbound sales efforts as needed. In addition, the BDR will take an active role in planning, organizing, and delivering seminars, to support our sales efforts. The BDR will work to target the organizations with the highest potential to Bellco and will develop detailed sales plans for each of these key accounts. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Manager - Business Development - Choiceline Contacts: Key personnel at existing and new sponsor companies and potential credit union members, Bellco employees, credit union officials, other credit union departments and strategic partners. QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. Experience: Proven experience with outside sales or customized marketing in financial services, technology, or other field that demands a high-touch, consultative selling approach. Minimum of 4 years of increasing success in business-to-business mortgage or real estate sales. Must demonstrate ability to work independently, set personal goals and schedule to achieve those goals. Equipment: Valid driver's license, insurance, and operationally sound vehicle. Provided by Bellco: On-line computer terminal keyboard and visual monitor, calculator, copy machine, fax machine, cell/telephone, computer printer and ATM. Skills: To be successful in this role, the candidate must possess exceptional sales skills, including strong interpersonal skills. He or she must be responsive and able to work both proactively and reactively, with great flexibility. Strong organizational and communication skills (verbal/written) are required. Meticulous record-keeping and tracking. Organized, efficient, and effective team player. Computer skills must include proficiency with Microsoft® Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Microsoft Access database. Basic graphic/publication design experience with Microsoft Publisher or Adobe® InDesign a plus. Polished public speaking skills; ability to deliver standardized presentations with Microsoft PowerPoint to large or small audiences. Physical ability to carry, load/unload materials as necessary.(Setting up event exhibits, moving collateral, etc.) Additions or modifications to these requirements may be made as needed to maintain service levels to members. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Proactively contacts potential sponsor companies via telephone, email or in person to present product value propositions to meet monthly production goals. Establish internal and external business relationships and use high levels of tact, influence and persuasion to achieve sales objectives and maintain positive business relationships with current sponsor companies. Maintain and improve penetration levels of existing sponsor groups. Assist in the development and execution of both short and long-term strategies and partner with Bellco staff to identify and prospect new business opportunities and fully develop existing relationships through cross-sell opportunities with clients on new product offerings and products not initially requested. Prepares and coordinates materials for on-site broker visits, including new member information and promotional items. Responds to questions and /or provides information to contacts upon request. Provide regular analysis of regions in relationship to products, competition and market penetration. Provides a valuable and enjoyable experience to both internal customers and members during interactions. Consistently suggests ways to improve the member/customer experience through improved processes and technology. Understand key features and benefits of all Bellco consumer and business products and services and communicate features and benefits to members in a positive manner. Practice Bellco service standards and desired sales behaviors in all interactions with members and prospective members. Accurately and timely enter required and relevant information into lead tracking system. Manage active leads and referrals and status updates with staff regularly. Regular and punctual attendance. WORKING CONDITIONS
In order to meet the financial services needs of our members, position may necessitate changes in hours or location. This position will require some evening and weekend hours, primarily to support community events. Position requires traveling to branches, offsite meetings and community events. Bellco requires all employees who drive their personal or company vehicle in the routine performance of their jobs to have a valid Driver’s License. They must also provide proof of valid insurance.
