This position will be located at the WSU Community Education Center on 26th and Monroe in Ogden and is expected to work 32 hours per week, 12 months per year, with at least three days per week in the office.

Responsibilities

Facilitate new and ongoing OgdenCAN programs, build authentic partnerships, and support community leadership development in alignment with OgdenCAN’s mission and strategic plans.

Engage residents, community organizations, and anchor institutions to support community-driven initiatives and programs.

Facilitate program implementation, community programs budget tracking, purchasing, evaluation, data tracking, and reporting to ensure measurable community impact and compliance with grant requirements.

Center OgdenCAN’s mission, vision, and resident voices in all engagement efforts.

Qualifications Required:

Associate’s degree in community development, public administration, social sciences, nonprofit management, education, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

One year of experience in community engagement, program coordination, nonprofit work, public service, or a related field.

Experience working with communities and facilitating resident-centered engagement.

Experience with community program coordination, data tracking, and reporting.

Preferred:

Experience supporting community leadership programs or impact initiatives.

Familiarity with Asset-Based Community Development, Placemaking, Design Thinking, or similar participatory engagement strategies.

Experience working with grant-funded programs and funder reporting requirements.

Experience working in higher education, local government, or community-based organizations.

Experience with qualitative and quantitative data collection and evaluation.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Background Check Criminal background check required as a condition of employment.

Physical Requirements

Light work. Exerting up to 20 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Use of arm and/or leg controls exerting forces greater than that for sedentary work.

Physical activity includes extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction, expressing or exchanging ideas, conveying detailed or important instructions, and moving about to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.

Visual acuity requirements including color, depth perception, and field of vision. Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading.

Neither environmental conditions nor occupational hazards significantly exceed typical office or administrative work.
