Your impact

We're looking for a highly ambitious and focused Mechanical Designer who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our client’s business. As part of our team, you’ll have the chance to work on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients’ challenges locally and worldwide by providing a range of services. You’ll collaborate on advanced facilities projects that enable the heart of our clients’ business, working on projects at some of the world’s most state-of-the-art industrial and commercial facilities. You’ll be part of a multi-discipline, highly interactive team delivering equipment design, specification, selection, technical evaluation of vendor equipment offerings/submittals, and mechanical review of vendor equipment drawings for conformance with design criteria. You’ll review and evaluate the desired goal of the system and develop machine design concepts and drawings, and/or select the required equipment, perform calculations and evaluations of the equipment and systems for industrial and commercial applications.

To be successful in this position you must have a passion for innovation, exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment as you support activities ensuring construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications, recognized codes and standards, and customer requirements. We’ll depend on your excellent communication skills and eagerness to contribute to ensure and maintain effective communication with project team members and with our clients as you participate in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned projects.

Responsibilities

Assist in the design, specification, and selection of mechanical equipment for industrial and commercial projects.

Perform calculations and evaluations of equipment and systems to meet design criteria and codes.

Review vendor equipment drawings for conformance with design criteria and functional specifications.

Collaborate with multi-discipline teams to support planning, cost development, and scheduling for projects.

Communicate effectively with project team members and clients.

Qualifications

Associate Degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree

At least 3 years of practical experience in mechanical engineering, especially related to process equipment design and functionality

Experience and certification on 3D parametric design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor)

Ideally, you will also have

5 years of practical experience in mechanical engineering, especially related to process equipment design and functionality

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification or a 4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) on SolidWorks models

Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future

The base salary range for this position is $66,000.00 to $100,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
