Position:
Fragrance Application Chemist
Location:
Florham Park, NJ
Employment Type:
Full time hours (morning shift)
Pay Rate:
$35-$40 per hour
Responsibilities
Follow safety and compounding procedures for application samples.
Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to safety regulations and procedures, and understanding the hazards of handling various chemicals.
Coordinate with R&D on powder and test samples.
Establish and maintain a database for incoming Zoom Powders.
Accurately prepare application and stability samples.
Ensure lab equipment is in proper working condition.
Document and maintain accurate records of experiments and samples generated in the lab.
Assist with the preparation of laundry samples for evaluation.
Pull stability samples from ovens and set up samples for evaluation.
Order raw materials from suppliers needed for specific formulations.
Establish a database for raw materials.
Compound complex formulations accurately and promptly to meet deadlines.
Assist with inventory management for lab supplies and organize lab inventory to ensure availability of necessary supplies/raw materials.
Organize and send samples to the support team and clients.
Perform general laboratory housekeeping duties.
Undertake other duties as assigned.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Material Science, or Biology.
Experience
3-5 years of laboratory experience.
Applications and formulation experience highly desired.
Experience in cross-functional innovation projects.
Technical troubleshooting skills.
Fragrance industry experience is preferred.
Skills
Proficient in lab operations and project management.
Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
