is partnering with a
well-established, multi-state service organization
to identify a Sales & Use Tax / Accounting Support professional to join their growing accounting team. This is a confidential search for a newly added role designed to support ongoing growth and operational needs. Position Overview: This role supports sales and use tax compliance across multiple states by preparing, validating, and monitoring tax data prior to submission to an outsourced tax firm. While sales tax responsibilities are a core focus, this position is not limited to tax alone and will also assist with general accounting and compliance functions as needed. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, process-driven, and comfortable working in a structured, in-office environment with hands-on leadership and training. Key Responsibilities
Sales & Use Tax Support: Prepare and organize sales tax data for submission to an external tax filing partner. Review invoices daily to ensure correct taxability and rates. Map and maintain tax codes across services using Avalara. Monitor invoicing activity to ensure taxes are applied properly. Support multi-state sales tax compliance (approximately 40+ states). Perform sales tax rate lookups using Excel-based tools. Work with large datasets (100,000+ records) and high invoice volume. Accounting & Compliance Support: Assist with general accounting functions (journal entries, invoice entry, coverage support). Support annual Business Personal Property Tax filings. Assist with recurring annual state compliance filings. Maintain and follow a compliance and filing calendar. Cross-train with existing accounting team members. Systems & Tools: Avalara (sales tax automation and real-time tax lookup). QuickBooks (financial system). Microsoft Excel (advanced proficiency required). Qualifications
5–10 years of relevant accounting or tax experience preferred. Sales & use tax experience strongly preferred. Multi-state experience a plus. Strong Excel skills required (large datasets, reconciliations, lookups). Bachelor’s degree preferred, but equivalent experience considered. Detail-oriented with the ability to follow and maintain established processes. Willingness to support broader accounting operations as needed. Work Environment

Competitive salary, targeting
