The Credit Analyst will report to the VP of Credit and will provide support to the AVP of Pricing and credit team with underwriting analysis, and pricing of financial transactions. This role plays an important part in helping the company deliver efficient funding solutions while supporting the continued growth of the business. Responsibilities include performing initial credit reviews, gathering and analyzing customer financial information, and assisting with credit decisioning. The Credit Analyst will work closely with the internal sales team, senior management, and, at times, large corporate customers and prospective clients. The role also involves obtaining general business information and financial statements to support informed credit decisions and help manage risk within First Financial’s customer portfolio. Job Responsibilities: Spread and analyze financial statements to support written credit reviews and credit analysis. Assist with due diligence to support credit assessments and the assignment of appropriate internal risk ratings. Analyze transaction specific risks associated with individual credit requests. Support the preparation and documentation of credit recommendations and credit decisions. Work closely with the AVP of Pricing on deal structuring, pricing analysis, and syndication related activities. Review customer credit files to identify financial strengths and weaknesses and assess overall credit worthiness. Assist in presenting credit recommendations to senior management, as appropriate. Support the syndication of transactions where FFEL is managing exposure. Work closely with the VP of Credit on portfolio monitoring initiatives and assist with financial modeling and analysis. Perform other related duties as assigned by management. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or other related field Minimum of two (2) years of commercial credit analysis and underwriting experience Equipment finance and leasing knowledge a plus Formal credit training a plus High aptitude for math, with very strong analytical skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Highly organized, with ability to handle multiple projects and complete work efficiently and within established timeframes Computer literate; fluency in Microsoft Office, Excel Exposure to S&P Capital IQ and Microsoft Dynamics a plus Willing to take on new projects and seek opportunities to help Positive attitude and approach to daily tasks Demonstrated ability to work independently and solve problems in a fast-paced environment LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY - with ability to work on-site a minimum of 3 days/week
