Job Description
Manages the Comprehensive Emergency Management Plans, including Hazard Vulnerability Assessments for all applicable areas.
Maintains good relationships with other departments and interacts effectively with Emergency Management, EMS, Fire, and Police community agencies.
Develops and educates an effective disaster response and emergency management plan for all facilities.
Plans and coordinates at least two drills annually at each hospital, including a mass casualty event and an internal event, with one being community-coordinated as per JCAHO/DNV guidelines.
Maintains accurate records of drills, critiques, community meetings, and real events, and engages with campuses for Corrective Action Plans associated with After Action Reports.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Expert knowledge of the Incident Command Structure, including a deep understanding of the interrelationships, responsibilities, goals, and functions of local, state, and federal government in the planning and implementation of emergency services.
Expert knowledge of Command Center/Emergency Operations Center functions across various agency levels.
Exceptional ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with a diverse range of people and audiences.
Proficiency in preparing comprehensive detailed reports and plans, with the ability to read, interpret, comprehend, and apply written and verbal policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and laws.
Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with a wide variety of agencies, organizations, and individuals.
